225 FRANKLIN AMENITY TERRACE
Located near Boston’s Seaport District, the outdoor terrace at 225 Franklin Street serves as a shared amenity space for multiple business tenants. Positioned adjacent to a historic landmark and overlooking Post Office Square, the terrace offers panoramic views and a vibrant urban backdrop that connects it to the surrounding cityscape.
Designed in collaboration with Fogarty Finger Architects, the terrace functions as a flexible, multi-purpose environment that accommodates both individual and group use. Key landscape elements include a timber bleacher platform, bar-height tables, a high-top counter with a TV screen wall and pergola, as well as semi-private seating areas featuring custom timber benches. The project is an expansion of an existing outdoor space and presented significant structural and weight-bearing challenges. Terrain worked closely with the architectural and engineering teams to navigate a complex, phased construction process, requiring detailed coordination across trades to bring the design to life.
