The Rise
In collaboration with Magnusson Architecture and Planning, the landscape design at The Rise complements the building’s dynamic massing by integrating outdoor spaces across multiple levels, offering residents opportunities for both quiet retreat and community gathering.
At the street level, a series of planted pockets along the building’s saw-tooth shaped setbacks create a richly planted garden edge and create a welcoming entry experience. Flowering vines planted in these pockets are trained up the four to six stories of the saw-tooth façade, creating vertical walls of lush planting, visible from across the street.
Terraces on the 5th, 6th, and 7th floors function as extensions of the interior spaces, such as the community, laundry and computer rooms, supporting small group gatherings and inviting residents to step outside during daily routines. The rooftop was designed in partnership with Project Eats, an urban farming organization based in New York that works with residents and other neighborhood communities to provide farming and food programs.
