THE BEEKMAN HOTEL

Terrain renovated the Beekman Hotel Terraces as part of a historic restoration of the 1886 Landmark Temple Court Building. The bold, visionary design includes a contemporary tower addition and has reshaped the downtown skyline with a striking blend of classic and modern.

The large terrace garden at the top of the landmark hotel, continues the marriage of the historic and contemporary. The Terrace is framed by iconic turrets on one side, a modern tower at the other, and encircles the historic Temple Court pyramidal skylight.

As a continuation of adjacent indoor entertaining and dining spaces, the terrace provides an outdoor kitchen and a choice of dining and lounge areas, all nestled within a garden of birch, hornbeams, native conifers, grasses and perennials,. During the day, a large pergola provides a shaded cabana-like setting for outdoor meetings and dining, while at night it becomes a lounge area with an illuminated canopy. The result is a dynamic perch all enhanced by views of the lower Manhattan skyline.
